Amazon Mobile ad placements

Since 2013, I’ve been working with our product management team to design, test, launch, and maintain ad placements inside the Amazon Mobile Shopping experience (our mobile website and shopping apps) around the world. The placements I’ve worked on have supplied Amazon with millions of dollars in contribution profit over the last few years, helped establish parity between our desktop and mobile ad offering, and reduced the complexity of the mobile ad campaign design process. (For example, during my tenure we have reduced the number of unique ad sizes per mobile campaign from 8 to 4.)

Along the way I have had many opportunities to learn about the ads business, the technical details of Amazon’s mobile ecosystem, and how to execute on plans that require support from a wide variety of stakeholders in a big company.
