In 2013 I helped invent Amazon’s first full-screen mobile ad format. Our interstitial ads:
- Allow third-party iOS and Android app developers to monetize their apps by using our API to show high quality full-screen ads at designated moments – this is very helpful for game developers, for example, who do not have the real estate to display persistent banner ads.
- Help advertisers reach Amazon customers in a different context, with beautiful brand-focused ad creatives.
- Prioritize the experience of app users, ensuring that the ‘close’ button is always usable, visible, and tappable, and that ads load instantly.
- Minimize the amount of design effort and operational overhead in supporting fully responsive ads.
