In the American Grain

★★☆☆☆

Review:

A set of wildly uneven prose-poem portraits of important American people, from Erik the Red to Abraham Lincoln. I thought some of the early chapters and the later sketch of Aaron Burr were pretty great, but a lot of this book is a boring experiment.
