Cheap Amusements: Working Women and Leisure in Turn-of-the-Century New York



A history of leisure time as it became available to young women for the first time in American history—I thought this was a pretty good discussion of the topic, but not intrinsically interesting/provocative. New York seems like an outlier that (at least in this case) doesn’t reveal much about the rest of the country.
