John Quincy Adams: A Public Life, A Private Life

★★★★☆

Review:

A touching, memorable, and occasionally funny biography of a failed President and a successful human. Adams comes to life through Nagel’s reading and presentation of material from his, shall we say, extensivediaries, which were mostly ignored until this book came out. Highlights include JQA’s curmudgeonly ’tude and the sexy poetry he wrote to his wife.
